2.1. Research Scope and Objectives
Our research is about the problems that visually impaired people may face when walking outside or using public transportation in Kuala Lumpur. We want to understand the difficulties they may meet in daily travel. By studying these problems, we hope to know their real experiences better and think about some design ideas that can make public transportation easier and safer for them.

2.2. Site Selection and Location
For our field research, our group chose the railway stations near KL Sentral. KL Sentral is the biggest transportation hub in Kuala Lumpur and many people pass through this area every day. Because of the busy environment and many transport connections, it is a good place to study whether the guidance system for visually impaired people works well.

2.3. Field Observation and Data Collection
During our site visit, we walked around the station area to observe different facilities and signs. I was mainly responsible for collecting data. I took many photos of the signs, tactile paving, and other accessibility facilities. At the same time, we recorded our observations. We mainly looked at things like Braille signs, color contrast of the signs, the size of the text, and whether the accessible paths around the station were clear and continuous.

2.4. Data Organization and Project Importance
After the site visit, I organized the photos and observation notes that we collected. These materials will be used in our presentation. By showing these real examples, we can explain the problems that visually impaired people may face in this environment. This information will also help us support our ideas and propose better design solutions in the future.

3.Feedback

Our field study at KL Sentral station was carefully planned to observe the wayfinding system and accessibility facilities for visually impaired users. During the site visit, we did on-site observation and collected many photos and notes. These materials helped us better understand how the current system works in a real public transportation environment.

Through this process, I paid close attention to different details related to accessibility design. For example, we looked at tactile paving on the ground, Braille signs, and the color contrast of different signs in the station. These elements are important because they help visually impaired people find directions more easily.

This research helped us understand some of the real problems that visually impaired users may face when using public transportation. The information we collected will support our analysis and will also help us develop better design ideas in the next stage of the project. Our findings will provide a clear foundation for improving accessibility and creating a more inclusive transportation environment.

4.reflection

This field study at KL Sentral helped me understand more about how visually impaired people experience public transportation in real life. By observing the signs, Braille information, color contrast, and tactile paving in the station, I realized that good design should be based on real environments and the actual needs of users, not only on ideas or assumptions.

During this research, I also improved my observation and data collection skills. I learned how to take useful photos, record important information, and organize the materials we collected during the site visit. These skills are important for doing design research.

Working with my teammates also helped us finish the field investigation more smoothly, especially because KL Sentral is a very busy place. Overall, this experience made me understand the importance of inclusive design. In the next stage of the project, I hope to use the information we collected to develop design ideas that can better support visually impaired users in public spaces.
