2.1Process
Using Adobe Animate, I continued developing the bouncing ball exercise from Exercise 1 by adding squash and stretch deformation to make the movement feel more dynamic and realistic.
First, I created the basic bouncing motion using keyframes and classic tweens. After establishing the movement path, I adjusted the shape of the ball during different stages of the motion. When the ball moved quickly through the air, I stretched the ball vertically to emphasize speed and momentum. When the ball hit the ground, I squashed the shape horizontally to show impact and pressure before it bounced back up again.
To make the animation more expressive, I also added a tail to the ball. The tail follows the motion direction and changes shape together with the ball during each bounce. As the ball accelerates downward, the tail stretches longer to enhance the sense of movement. During impact, both the ball and the tail compress slightly before expanding again as the ball rises.
I also adjusted the spacing and timing carefully so the deformation feels smooth and connected to the movement. This helped create a more lively and believable bouncing animation.
