2.1Bouncing Ball Motion Study – Process

First, I placed the key positions of the ball by setting one ball at the highest point and another on the ground where it makes contact. These positions established the start and end of the first bounce.

Next, I drew a smooth arc between these two points to define the motion path of the ball.

At the top of the arc, I added a short vertical guide line to mark the highest point of the bounce. Then I placed a ball on this marker to show the peak position.

After that, I added short guide lines at the middle areas between the left and right sides of the arc. These marks helped define the spacing and timing of the movement.

Finally, I placed additional balls along these guide positions in sequence to show the motion progression as the ball falls, rises, slows down, and accelerates.

By repeating this process while gradually reducing the height and distance of each bounce, I created a more natural continuous bouncing motion.

3.Feedback
week1:This week, the class mainly focused on understanding the assignment requirements and the overall structure of the project. The teacher explained how the bouncing ball motion study should be developed step by step, including how to construct the motion path, place key positions, and use guide lines to show movement.

In addition, we were introduced to the basic functions of the software, including the main tools, buttons, and workflow. This helped me become more familiar with how to use the program for animation planning and layout.

week2:There was no class this week, so no feedback was given. I continued working on my project independently.

4.reflection
From this lesson, I gained a clearer understanding of how motion can be broken down into structured steps. At first, I thought the bouncing ball animation would be simple, but I realized that it actually requires careful planning of spacing, timing, and movement consistency.
I also learned that using guide lines and key frames is very important for creating a smooth and realistic motion. This week helped me build confidence in starting the project, even though I still need more practice with the software tools.
