Sketch
I chose this famous saying:"It has been said that time heals all wounds. The truth is that time does not heal anything. It merely passes. It is what we do during the passing of time that helps or hinders the healing process." Then I chose the theme of childhood memories because I truly feel the quiet passing of childhood time—we gradually forget the happy moments of our childhood, whether it's a game of blowing bubbles, the first goldfish we raised with our own hands, or the swinging swing in the park. After growing up, we are always caught up in the rush of study and work, becoming increasingly indifferent to the things around us, yet we only remember the ease and comfort of childhood. This sense of powerlessness in the face of the passage of time is the most profound realization I have had as an adult.
Moodboard
To better create the atmosphere, I drew on a dark retro style, using black and white as the main tones. The low-saturation gray levels accurately interpret the hazy and nostalgic texture of memories, like the imprints of time in old photos. I then used red as an auxiliary color to add layers and tension to the quiet scenes. At the same time, I applied a crayon brush effect to emphasize the innocent nature of childhood, convey a pure emotional core, and draw closer to the audience's memories.Storyboard
A person pushes open a dusty old door, and behind it appear familiar objects that carry childhood memories: sparkling bubbles, goldfish swimming in a fish tank, and a swinging swing in an empty park. As the gaze passes over these scenes, the door slowly closes, symbolizing those childhood days that can never be returned to—though sealed, they remain forever deep in the memory.

Rationale
The entire creation takes "the door" as the core clue of the narrative, connecting childhood symbols that carry collective memories, such as bubbles, goldfish, and swings, through the opening and closing of the door, forming a complete emotional closed loop. Visually, blackand white are used as the main tones to create a nostalgic atmosphere, with red accents to strengthen the emotional focus, and the crayon texture echoes the characteristics of childhood. The abstract emotion of "time passes quickly, but memories last forever" is transformed into perceivable scenes through concrete scene, allowing the audience to awaken their own childhood memories in familiar images and resonate with "this is my story".
Detailed information
Animation Production
The entire animation editing was completed using CapCut, mainly utilizing functions such as editing, adding music, creating special effects, and dubbing. During production, special effects such as hazy raindrops, film frame tearing transitions, and pencil graffiti textures were added to further enhance the retro texture of memories.
Background Music
The lullaby "Lullaby" was chosen as the background music. This quiet and soothing melody, with the gentle vibrato of the interweaving piano and violin, reminds me of the fireflies in my childhood summer nights and the little me as soon as I hear it. Its interpretation of "memories" is accurate and touching, highly consistent with the theme of my animation.
Narration Voice
Personal dubbing was used instead of AI generation because manual dubbing can better convey delicate emotional tension and make the narrative more naturally warm.
3.Reflection
In this final project, I gradually found the rhythm and feeling of making animations, and also found the rhythm and feeling of expressing emotions through visual language, laying a foundation for subsequent course studies. At first, I was quite unfamiliar with using Illustrator, but I have gradually adapted through continuous practice. Next, I will remember more shortcut keys to improve production efficiency, so that technology can better serve emotional expression. The whole process made me more deeply understand that animation is not only a presentation of technology, but also a carrier of emotions and memories, which is the precious significance of creation.
