Assignment Description:
You are required to select an existing website which you feel has several design and UX issue and prepare a detailed proposal for its redesign. The proposal should address the following key aspects

2.1. Website Analysis
Current Design Evaluation
Blinkee.com’s current design looks cluttered and outdated. The homepage is overloaded with images, text, and animations, which makes it difficult for users to focus. The color palette is bright but inconsistent, and typography lacks hierarchy. Product photos vary in style and resolution, reducing overall visual harmony.

User Experience (UX)
Navigation is confusing — too many categories are shown at once, and the search bar is not prominent. The layout doesn’t guide users smoothly toward purchasing. On mobile, buttons are small and menus are not well optimized.

Functionality
The site loads slowly due to large image files and heavy animations. Some interactive buttons lag, especially on mobile browsers. Responsiveness is inconsistent across devices.

Improve usability by simplifying navigation and reducing visual clutter.
Modernize the visual style with a cleaner color palette and consistent typography.
Strengthen brand identity by highlighting Blinkee’s fun, party-centered personality.
Enhance mobile experience for smoother browsing and faster load times.

3. Target Audience
Blinkee’s main audience includes:
Young adults (18–35) planning parties or events
Parents buying glow toys for children
Event organizers seeking bulk, themed lighting products
The redesign should make browsing easier and visually more appealing, giving users a sense of fun while keeping the interface professional and trustworthy.

3.4. Design Proposal
Visual Design Concepts
The new design will adopt a dark background with neon highlights, reflecting the glowing theme of the products. A grid-based layout will organize content clearly, and large, consistent product photos will replace the current mixed styles.
Typography will use a bold sans-serif font for clarity and a secondary rounded font for friendly tone.

UX Enhancements
Simplify navigation with 5–6 clear main categories
Add filters (color, type, event) for easier search
Create a dynamic homepage banner that highlights bestsellers
Improve checkout flow to reduce steps

This redesign aims to bring clarity, consistency, and energy to Blinkee.com. By combining playful visuals with a structured layout, the new site will better reflect the brand’s identity and provide users with a smoother, more enjoyable shopping experience.

3Feedback
week3:In this class, the professor taught us how to create our own website and introduced some basic coding. We completed a simple webpage in class and included a brief self-introduction on it. Later, when the professor reviewed my work, they found some mistakes and showed me how to correct them.
week4:The teacher explained to us how to use DW software to create a simple webpage in class and gave us time to practice on our own.
week5:The teacher taught us how to create a new site and how to add images and our preferred background to the webpage to make it look more beautiful.
