2.Process Work

We started by developing five initial concept sketches to address different urban mobility issues in Kuala Lumpur.
These concepts covered various user groups and design directions, from accessibility facilities to public information systems.

2.1 Selection & Refinement of Ideas

Based on feedback, we narrowed down and improved our most feasible concepts, focusing on specific user groups and real-world application.
We removed overly complex and high-cost ideas, and strengthened the clarity, functionality, and accessibility of the remaining designs.

2.2Development of Idea 1: Smart Bus Stop Hubs

We refined the first concept into Smart Bus Stop Hubs, targeting elderly users, visually impaired users, and daily commuters.
The design focuses on upgrading existing infrastructure with clear displays, multilingual functions, voice announcements, and emergency buttons to create a more inclusive and user-friendly transit experience.

2.3 Development of Idea 2: Community “Travel Companion” Stations

The second concept was improved into Community “Travel Companion” Stations, designed especially for elderly users who are less familiar with digital devices.
We simplified the interface, used larger fonts, and added voice navigation functions to reduce the digital gap and improve convenience in daily travel.

2.4Development of Idea 3: Wayfinding for the Visually Impaired

The third concept was developed into a dedicated wayfinding system for the visually impaired.
This design integrates tactile paving, braille, 3D tactile maps, and audio guidance to support independent and safe navigation for visually impaired users.

3.Feedback

Week 1:
We formed our group and discussed the initial ideas proposed by each member. We shared and exchanged different concepts related to our project theme.

Week 2:
We selected our tutor and organized our chosen ideas into a complete PPT for presentation.

Week 3:
We presented our proposals to our tutor and received detailed feedback. The tutor suggested that some ideas were too costly and difficult to implement, and advised us to focus on specific target users and include more reference cases from other cities.

4.reflection

Through this three-week process, I have learned how to work effectively in a team and turn initial ideas into structured proposals.
From discussing ideas with group members to making a PPT and receiving tutor feedback, I understand more clearly the importance of focusing on specific users and making designs practical and realistic.

The feedback helped us improve our ideas and think more carefully about real-life application.
This experience has been very useful for our project development and will guide us to make better and more feasible designs in the next stage.
