First, I created a new composition in After Effects and arranged the different scene compositions on the timeline. I adjusted the duration and timing of each scene to match the overall animation flow.Next, I designed the background and environment using simple shapes and flat colours to create a clean visual style. I also imported additional animation elements and arranged them in sequence to build the scene transitions. After that, I animated the character movement by adjusting position keyframes frame by frame. I used different compositions for the leg movement and walking cycle to make the motion look smoother and more natural. Then, I adjusted the timing and layering of each scene to improve the pacing of the animation. I also added small details such as shadows and movement trails to make the scene more dynamic. Finally, I previewed the full animation and refined the motion, timing, and composition placement to ensure the final result looked smooth and visually balanced.

Week5

During Friday’s class, the teacher showed us how to create this animation step by step in After Effects. We learned how to organize scenes, animate character movement, and arrange compositions on the timeline. The demonstration helped me understand the workflow more clearly and improved my confidence in using keyframes and scene transitions. At the end of the class, the teacher also recorded and shared a video tutorial for our next assignment. This will be very helpful because I can review the steps again outside of class and follow the process more easily while completing the homework.

4.reflection

This week, I learned more about how to organize scenes and create smoother animation in After Effects. By following the teacher’s demonstration, I became more familiar with using compositions, keyframes, and timing adjustments to build a complete animation sequence.

I also found that small details such as movement timing and scene transitions can greatly improve the overall quality of an animation. The video tutorial provided by the teacher will help me review the process again when doing the next assignment. Overall, I feel more confident using After Effects and I want to continue improving my animation skills in future projects.
